Muscat: The Shura Council will host Dr. Mahad Said Ba'owain, Minister of Labour, on Sunday 15 December 2024 to discuss the topic of "Temporary Employment Initiatives".
The meeting will take place during the Council’s 3rd regular session of the second regular sitting of the 10th Term.
Sheikh Ahmed Mohammed Al Nadabi, Secretary General of the Shura Council, said in a statement that the minister’s hosting would be in line with Article 68 of the Council of Oman Law and Article 56 of the Shura Council Law.
Al Nadabi pointed out that the meeting is scheduled to discuss the outcome of implementation of temporary government employment contracts of all kinds, as well as the ministry’s plans to develop these contracts. The meeting would also discuss the outcome of implementation of other types of employment contracts in the private sector and the challenges facing the ministry.
Al Nadabi explained that the session would discuss the Ministry’s follow-up of positive and negative implications of temporary employment initiatives, both to the work environment and to national workforce in the Sultanate of Oman (in the public and private sectors).
He added that the session would review a number of draft laws referred by the government, including the bill of law on the collection of State dues and the bill of law on the rights of people with disabilities.
